#88, Washington County

Washington County is located in southern Indiana.
 Its county seat is Salem.
This is its courthouse.

Morgan's Raid came through Salem, during the Civil War. The only action on Hoosier soil during that war.

Josie!

#72, Scott County

I've been lazy with my posts. Excluding this one, I have three counties to post from a short road trip I did in October. Those  courthouse photos are edited and I just finished three more. So, I'll try to more on top of it!

Just off I-65 in southern Indiana, is the small town of Scottsburg. Scottsburg is the county seat of Scott County. In the mid- to late 90s, the courthouse had a little face-lift and an addition to the building.

#79, Tippecanoe County

In October, I took my wife to West Lafayette to see "A Prairie Home Companion." She has always wanted to see Garrison Keilor. The show was travelling and made a stop at Purdue University, with our favorite band Old Crow Medicne Show. While in the neighborhood, I snapped some quick photos of the Tippecanoe County courthouse in Lafayette.

The Murphys

Some great friends asked if I could snap a few photos of their clan...I could not resist. You'll see why after looking at these photos! Fun group and great looking, too!

Griffin.

The whole crew.

Ruby.

Carrie and Conor.

I love the way everyone is looking in Ruby's direction as she strikes a pose.

Thanks Murphys!

# 16, Decatur County

This courthouse, located in Greensburg, IN was surely an interesting sight. In 1870, a decade after the courthouse was built, a large tooth oak tree appeared on the roof. It has since become a point of pride for the town and county. I noticed it was a point of interest for all the passers-by. As I was taking photos, people kept glancing up at the tree. This is one courthouse I knew I'd love photographing!

The clock tower seems to be the logo for anything and everything Greensburg/Decatur County.
