#48, Madison County

Anderson is the county seat of Madison County.  The courthouse is a modern structure located in the downtown area.  The area where the courthouse is located was once a gathering and meeting place for the local natives in the area.

#5 Blackford County

Alphabetically, Blackford County is number five on the list of Indiana counties.  Hartford City is the county seat, loacted just off I-69 near Muncie.  This courthouse looks very similiar to that of Tipton County's.  This is not uncommon.  Many of the same architects designed courthouses throughout Indiana.  In some cases, counties would visit neighboring courthouses and decide that they would want same design.

Delaware County

Muncie is the county seat of Delaware County.  Delaware County had a gorgeous courthouse. The old courthouse was replaced in the late 1900's. The county did keep a few statues that stood watch at the old building. Those figures are now on display across the street from the new building.
The new courthouse at Muncie.

A few figures still watching out for the residents of Delaware County.
Along with these statues, an entrance to another historical building in Muncie are on display across from the new courthouse.

Randolph County

In Winchester, Indiana, you will find this gem.  Winchester is the county seat of Randolph County.  During my stop, the courthouse was under going some renovations.  I was a little disappointed.  I did not want orange fencing and heavy equipment in my shots. I did my best to showcase the building and avoid the construction as much as possible.

Marion and Monroe County

Here is the Indianapolis-Marion County City County Building.  This houses most of the offices for the local government.  Since Unigov, under Mayor Lugar, the city and county essentially act as one. The office of the mayor, city-county council chambers, county clerk and courts are just a few of the offices in this building. After the City County Building you will find the Monroe County Courthouse, in Bloomington.
The City County Building is located just south of the City Market.

All the windows offered a geat shot, along with the cloudless sky!

Monroe County, Bloomington, IN.  This is where I got the inspiration to do this project.  One day in August, my family and I took a day trip to Bloomington.  I know the courthouse square in Bloomington is stunning and wanted to capture it. Then, I thought, all 92 county couthouse squares could be jsut as stunning.  So, I snapped a few photos in B-Town and the project was under way!

Trees

I drive by this lot of trees almost everyday.  I love the symmetry that the arrangement offers.
